Stephen Waddington
Stephen has a commercial litigation and arbitration practice, focusing on energy and resources, banking and finance, projects and insolvency. His practice also covers company and securities law.
He brings an in-house perspective, having served as legal counsel at a mining company and senior legal counsel at an energy company. He also brings experience as a regulator.
Stephen joined the independent bar as an experienced solicitor, having been a senior associate in the disputes group of Herbert Smith Freehills.
At the bar, Stephen has appeared in the Supreme Court, District Court and Magistrates Court, and has been briefed on matters involving corporate insolvency, construction litigation, consumer law, regulatory powers, commercial property, sports law, trust and estate litigation, privacy law, environmental law, misleading and deceptive conduct, sale of business disputes, professional liability, contractual disputes and banking litigation.
Stephen advises across a broad range of legal areas and accepts instructions to appear in applications, trials and appeals, as well as arbitrations.
Qualifications
LLB (Honours) (University of Western Australia), GDLP (Commendation) (Australian National University).
