Shirley Casey
Shirley is a criminal law barrister and accepts defence and prosecution briefs in all state, Commonwealth and regulatory offences.
Criminal law has been Shirley’s sole focus since she was admitted to practice in WA.
Having previously served as a senior associate at a national law firm, Shirley transitioned to a boutique criminal law practice in 2019 before being elected to the bar in 2022.
Shirley’s passion lies in advocacy and jury trials. She has represented accused persons and the State of Western Australia and accepts state briefs in Magistrate, District, Supreme Court and Court of Criminal Appeal matters.
Shirley's practice encompasses a wide range of areas, including handling major State and Commonwealth crime cases. Shirley regularly represents private and legally aided clients charged with violent offending, sexual assaults, and drug matters.
Shirley was nominated in Doyle’s Guide as a leading criminal barrister in 2024 and 2025 and preeminent barrister in 2026.
