Shane Stewart
Shane practises in commercial law, corporations law, insolvency, and taxation. His experience includes commercial disputes (litigated and arbitrated), corporate insolvency and bankruptcy, corporate and securities law issues, equity and trusts, restitution, regulatory investigations and regulatory and public law (in particular, competition, energy and resources and judicial review).
Shane is recognised for his strong technical skills, commercial background and strategic approach. He regularly advises on difficult and complex questions of law. Before coming to the bar, Shane was in private practice at Clifford Chance and Johnson Winter & Slattery. In 2012/13, he worked in Clifford Chance’s London office. He is a member of the Insolvency Practitioner Registration and Disciplinary Committees, the ASIC WA Regional Liaison Committee, the Competition Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council and a member (immediate past Chair) of the Commercial Law Committee of the WA Law Society.
Shane earned an LL.B. with First Class Honours from Adelaide Law School and an LL.M. from The University of Chicago Law School.
