John Ley SC
John Ley has broad experience as an advocate in most areas of civil and commercial law.
In recent years, John’s practice has focussed mainly on prosecuting and defending claims for damages for professional negligence, defending claims for damages for personal injuries, defending disciplinary proceedings brought against a variety of health practitioners and defending occupational health and safety prosecutions. John also advises in all those area and advises and appears on appeals.
John also acts as an arbitrator and as a mediator in a variety of matters.
John has served as an active member of the Legal Practice Board for many years and is currently the Chair of the Legal Profession Complaints Committee. John is also an elected member of Bar Council, the governing body of the Western Australian Bar Association.
John has also sat as a Commissioner of the District Court and is a Past President of the Law Society of Western Australia.
