Matthew Crowley has a general public and commercial practice with a particular interest in tax and regulatory law, as well as US-Australian cross-border issues.
Since returning from the US in 2016 – where he spent time with the Federal Trade Commission in Washington DC and as visiting Fulbright scholar at Georgetown University and Columbia University in New York – Matthew has set about establishing his practice at the WA Bar. He draws upon extensive experience as a public law litigator in all Australian courts.
Matthew was most recently general counsel at WA’s Department of Commerce, and senior lawyer at the Australian Government Solicitor.
While Matthew has taken chambers in Perth, he splits his practice between WA and Victoria. He is admitted in Western Australia, Victoria, the US Tax Court, the US Supreme Court and in New York.
