Simon Majteles
Simon Majteles is a commercial barrister with a practice focusing on building and construction, bankruptcy and insolvency and property disputes.
Simon has appeared in most State and Federal courts including the Supreme Court of WA and the Federal Court. He has represented construction companies, contractors, banks, insolvency practitioners, resource companies, insurers, public and private corporations and directors in a wide range of commercial disputes.
Simon adopts a commercial and practical approach to his advice and advocacy. He has acted as sole counsel and as part of larger counsel teams.
Simon began his career as an articled clerk with Chris Zelestis QC. He then spent 8 years at Lavan as part of the insolvency and restructuring team before moving to Gilbert + Tobin where he gained commercial litigation experience in the mining and resources sector. In 2015 he joined HWL Ebsworth as a special counsel in their construction, insurance and general commercial team.
Simon was the recipient of the 2018 Chief Justice’s prize for the ‘Best Performed Reader’ in the WA Bar Readers’ Course.
