Jen Perera
Jen has a broad practice which includes commercial and public law, regulatory prosecutions, and personal injuries.
Prior to joining the Bar, Jen was an Assistant State Solicitor at the State Solicitor’s Office in the Public and General Litigation Team.
Jen commenced her legal career in 2017 as Professional Assistant to the Solicitor-General of Western Australia, working with Peter Quinlan SC and Joshua Thomson SC (as their Honours then were) on significant constitutional and native title cases in the High Court of Australia.
Following her admission, Jen continued to be involved in numerous High Court cases (including as junior counsel) while building led and unled trial and appellate counsel experience in regulatory prosecutions and acting for government defendants in historical child sexual abuse and other personal injury matters.
Jen holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Western Australia, where she has tutored in public and constitutional law.
Jen is fluent in Japanese and joins Francis Burt Chambers as a pupil.
