Clinton Russell SC
Clinton Russell is an experienced commercial barrister conducting trials and appeals in a wide range of areas of commercial law. His practice focuses on insurance, building and construction, real property, corporations and defamation disputes.
He has represented major construction companies, major banks, insurers, resource companies and property investment companies in a broad range of commercial disputes in which large amounts, serious consequences or reputational issues were at stake.
Known for his keen commercial judgment and hands on approach, Clinton regularly appears as sole or lead counsel. He also acts as part of a team of leading and other junior counsel, solicitors and experts.
Before being called to the Bar, Clinton was a Senior Associate in the Commercial Dispute Resolution team at King & Wood Mallesons.
In 2024, Clinton successfully completed the Australian Bar Association Advanced Trial Advocacy Intensive in Sydney and was a member of the coaching faculty at the Piddington Society’s Advocacy Weekend.
Clinton has been listed as a leading barrister in Western Australia in Doyle’s Guide for Commercial Litigation (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024), Insolvency (2018, 2021, 2024) and Construction Law (2022).
Clinton was a member of the WA Bar Association Council from 2014 to 2017, has been a director of WA Bar Chambers Ltd since 2017 and has been the Vice Chair of the Board of FBC since 2023.
