Profile

Scott Ellis practises as a third-party neutral in commercial disputes – arbitrating, mediating, and acting as an expert determiner and adjudicator under the Construction Contracts Act, 2004. He also appears as counsel in commercial disputes.

As a third-party neutral, Scott focuses on identifying the real matters in dispute and addressing them fairly, expeditiously and informally.

Scott is a Fellow of the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration, a Fellow and Chartered Arbitrator of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and of Resolution Institute. He is on the panels of ACICA, WIPO, KLRCA and Resolution Institute; and is accredited as a mediator to NMAS standards.

He is a Senior Sessional Member of the State Administrative Tribunal, a member of the Anti-Dumping Review Panel (Commonwealth), a member of the panel of Legal Experts of the Electricity Review Board and the Acting Corruption and Crime Commissioner. He was formerly a member of the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal.
 
Scott has prepared more than 100 awards and decisions, dealing with an estimated total of more than $500 million in these matters.
