Colin Chenu

Colin Chenu has extensive experience in the areas of contract, corporations, consumer protection, equity and trusts, wills and estates and torts. He is widely recognised for his specialist experience in defamation and civil asset forfeiture (proceeds of crime) matters.

Since his admission in Western Australia in 1986, Colin has practised mainly in commercial dispute resolution across a broad range of areas and industries. He was a founding director of Bennett+Co where he practised from 2011 to 2018, and prior to that was a partner in Lavan Legal, Durack & Zilko, Quigley Coulson Chenu and Kott Gunning.

He regularly appears as counsel in the Supreme Court, Federal and District Courts, and has also appeared as counsel in the High Court of Australia.

Colin was recently recommended by Doyle’s Guide in the field of commercial litigation and dispute resolution law.
