Julie Moore
Julie is a highly regarded commercial barrister based in Perth, known for her strategic advocacy and strong track record in complex commercial litigation. An experienced trial advocate, she is frequently briefed in high-stakes commercial, construction, equity, and financial disputes and is trusted by solicitors for her commercial insight and persuasive courtroom advocacy.
Julie’s practice includes:
- Construction and statutory payment disputes – acting in building and infrastructure claims and complex contractual construction disputes.
- Corporate and equity litigation – including shareholder oppression disputes, breach of directors’ duties, breach of trust, constructive trust claims, and account of profits applications.
- Complex financial and cross-border disputes – including international money exchange disputes, cryptocurrency litigation, and loan and guarantee disputes.
- Insolvency and bankruptcy matters – including voidable transactions, vesting applications, and corporate insolvency litigation.
- Insurance and professional negligence claims – including professional indemnity and high-value property damage claims.
- Contested estates and family provision claims – including will disputes and equitable claims involving trusts.
- Judicial review and administrative appeals – challenging decisions by government agencies, regulators, and commissions.
Before joining the Bar, Julie was a senior associate at a leading international law firm and an associate to the Honourable John Gilmour at the Federal Court of Australia, giving her deep insight into legal system and appellate litigation.
Julie is the President of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association (WA Branch) and an adjunct lecturer with the College of Law. She is also a regular contributor to Thomson Reuters’ Practical Law series, where she is recognised for her insights into commercial law and dispute resolution.
