Francis Burt Chambers is pleased to welcome the return of Kathryn Kraus.
Kathryn first joined Francis Burt Chambers in 2020 and in 2023 we farewelled Kathryn when she accepted a position as a prosecutor with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Kathryn is an experienced barrister practicing primarily in the area of criminal law.
Kathryn has acted as counsel in a wide range of criminal matters in all Courts in Western Australia, including the Magistrates, District and Supreme Courts. She has acted as counsel in a large number of jury trials, including lengthy and complex trials. She has represented clients charged with a variety of criminal offences, including charges relating to drugs, violence, sexual offences, property based offences and homicide. She appears regularly as counsel in trials, bail applications, directions hearings and sentencing hearings. Kathryn also accepts briefs in relation to Violence Restraining Orders, Coronial matters and disciplinary proceedings.
