Francis Burt Chambers is delighted to announce the return of the Honourable Ken Martin KC to Chambers following his recent retirement as Senior Puisne Justice of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Mr Martin KC was admitted to practice in 1978. He joined the independent Bar (and Chambers) in 1992 and took silk in 1997.
In 2009, Mr Martin KC was appointed to the Supreme Court where he mostly sat as a first instance trial judge of the Commercial and Managed Cases (CMC) List as a member of the Court’s General Division. He also managed the Court’s Arbitration List, from 2018 to 2023, and served as a member of the Industrial Appeal Court (2009 – 2023).
Mr Martin KC is a former President of both the WA Bar Association and of the Law Society of WA, a Life Member of the Law Society, a former member of the executive of the Law Council of Australia, a former Board member and Vice Chair of Francis Burt Chambers, and a former Acting Parliamentary Inspector of the Crime and Corruption Commission of Western Australia (CCC).
Mr Martin KC accepts instructions as both mediator and commercial arbitrator.
