Francis Burt Chambers warmly congratulates Sam Vandongen SC on his appointment as Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.
Mr Vandongen SC has been a member of Chambers since 2008, and became Senior Counsel in 2010.
Mr Vandongen joins the Court on 2 November 2022.
As was observed earlier today by the Chief Justice, Mr Vandongen is a recognised leader of the criminal Bar and has also practised widely in administrative law and civil law.
Throughout his time in Chambers, Mr Vandongen has been a mentor and source of wise counsel to many, and the embodiment of all the best elements of the collegiate practice of a barrister.
We wish him all the very best in this new chapter of his career.
