On 15 April 2025, Francis Burt Chambers had the pleasure of hosting the new WA Attorney General, the Honourable Dr Tony Buti MLA, and were honoured that he took time out of his busy schedule to get to know our members over an informal drink.
The topics of discussion during the night were wide-ranging and covered his reflections on his previous portfolios, his agenda for his first term as Attorney General, and his thoughts on walking the Bibbulmun Track. Despite much ground being covered, the jury is still out as to whether one should refer to our new Attorney General as “Mister Attorney” or “Doctor Attorney” – that said, the Attorney will answer to both and is more focused on the job to be done, rather than what he is to be called while doing it.
