Congratulations to Clare Thompson SC, who has been appointed Deputy President of the Administrative Appeals Tribunal, which will soon become the Administrative Review Tribunal.
Clare commenced at the Francis Burt Chambers in March 2004 and was appointed Senior Counsel in 2021.
Clare has made a significant contribution to the profession including in her roles as President of the Law Society (2002), President of the Women Lawyers (2019 to 2022) and by establishing the Aboriginal Women’s Legal Education Trust. The Trust has assisted many young women to join and thrive in the profession where they may not otherwise have had that opportunity. Clare has advocated for change and the elevation of women in the legal profession wherever possible.
