Last night, members of Francis Burt Chambers benefited from the insight and wisdom of the Honourable Andrew Beech SC on the topic of appellate advocacy.
The session dealt with the material in a way that ensured that everyone in the audience – which was comprised of barristers ranging from those newly called to the bar to those who were in chambers together with Mr Beech prior to his appointment to the bench – was able to walk away having learned something new. Mr Beech made good the proposition that questions are to be embraced as opportunities to engage with your audience by continuing to answer questions, and provide further tips and tricks, over some light refreshments well after the session officially ended.
