Profile

Jason MacLaurin has been a Barrister at Francis Burt Chambers for more than 13 years, and a legal practitioner for more than 20.

He appears as Counsel in a wide range of cases in the Supreme Court, Federal Courts, and District Courts of Western Australia, including appellate work, and in commercial arbitrations, both international and domestic.

Jason’s practice encompasses general commercial, civil and building and construction law, and a defamation and media law practice.

Jason was an adjunct Associate Professor at Notre Dame University from 2007 to 2014, lecturing in Competition and Consumer Law, has lectured in Competition Law at Murdoch University, and has been a teacher at the UWA’s Forensic Advocacy Course from 2014 to 2016.  

Jason is currently the Editor of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Brief journal.
