Profile

Shane practises in all areas of commercial litigation including corporations, insolvency, equity, trade practices, resources and public law matters. Large disputes in which he is currently or recently involved include judicial review proceedings arising out of the Takeovers Panel proceedings in Finders 03R, acting for ICWA on the Bell Group litigation and an ICC arbitration concerning international supply arrangements. His practice also includes regulatory investigations.

Shane is recognised for his strong technical and advisory knowledge and strategic approach. Before coming to the bar, Shane worked as a solicitor at Johnson Winter & Slattery and Clifford Chance in both contentious and non-contentious corporate/commercial matters, and as the Associate to the Hon. Justice EM Heenan. He is the Chair of the Commercial Law Committee of the Law Society and a member of the Competition Committee of the Business Law Section of the Law Council.

Shane earned an LL.B. with First Class Honours from Adelaide Law School and an LL.M. from The University of Chicago Law School.
