Rebecca O’Brien is an experienced litigator, having acted for clients in disputes across a variety of sectors for more than 15 years. Prior to joining the Bar, Rebecca was a Managing Associate at Allens and Special Counsel at Jackson McDonald.
Rebecca’s principal area of practice is commercial litigation, with particular focus on contractual disputes in the mining and resources and construction sectors. She has acted for large corporate clients in actions in superior courts, including high profile / high value royalty, construction, environmental and joint venture disputes.
Rebecca also has experience acting for underwriters, brokers and insureds. Her insurance work has focused on professional negligence claims (including claims against engineers, real estate agents and accountants) and claims against directors and officers. She has also acted on insolvency matters, including acting for banks and insolvency practitioners in relation to various pre and post-appointment matters.
