Profile

Phillip Urquhart joined the Bar in 2005 after 14 years as a prosecutor with the DPP of WA. He has specialised in criminal law for over 25 years and has appeared as counsel in all courts with criminal jurisdiction covering a variety of offences from white collar crime to murder.

Phillip has also appeared as counsel assisting in the Coroner’s Court, the Corruption and Crime Commission and other government inquiries. 

In addition to criminal law, Phillip’s areas of practice include coronial inquests, appearances in the State Administrative Tribunal and other disciplinary tribunals.

He was President of the Criminal Lawyers Association of WA from 2010 to 2012, a member of the Law Society’s Criminal Law Committee from 2006 to 2011 and is the current Vice President of the Criminal Lawyers Association of WA.
