Paul Walker practises in both commercial and public law.
In relation to commercial matters, Paul focuses primarily on general contractual and commercial disputes (with particular expertise in the energy and resources and oil and gas sectors), corporate insolvencies, bankruptcies and general corporations law issues. In the area of public law, his areas of practice are primarily judicial review and freedom of information.
Paul has advised and appeared in a variety of commercial and public law matters in the District Court, Supreme Court, Federal Court and High Court. He also has experience in domestic and international arbitrations and matters before tribunals or other statutory merits review bodies.
Before he was called to the Bar, Paul was a Senior Associate at Ashurst (formerly Blake Dawson Waldron) in the disputes and insolvency team.
Paul is the author of several publications in peer-reviewed journals in the areas of contract, tort, unjust enrichment and corporate insolvency law, and has tutored in corporations law at the University of Western Australia for a number of years.
