Profile
Henry Jackson was admitted to practice in WA in 1998. The next year, he moved to Melbourne where he practised as a planning and environment solicitor in top-tier firms and government, including the Victorian Environment Protection Authority and Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright). He appeared regularly as a solicitor advocate.
Henry was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 2007 and practised almost exclusively in planning and environmental law and associated regimes – water law, gaming regulation, local government, public health and OHS.
He returned to Perth in 2010 and became a member of Francis Burt Chambers, where his practice remains predominantly public law – such as planning, environmental, land compensation, local government, liquor licensing, disciplinary and OHS. He also maintains a commercial practice, often concerning disputes involving land and its development.
Henry has been named a leading planning and environment junior counsel in WA in Doyle’s Guide 2014, 2016 and 2017 (recommended in 2015). He has also been published in journals, including the peer-reviewed Public Law Journal and the Australian and New Zealand Maritime Law Journal.
He has been a member of the Board of WA Chambers Pty Ltd since the end of 2010 and has sat on the boards of several not-for-profit organisations.
