Profile

David Skender has a broad commercial practice with a particular focus on corporate and personal insolvency as well as corporations matters generally.

David has appeared for debtors, lenders and insolvency practitioners in a wide variety of insolvency and real and personal property securities law contexts. In the corporations field, David’s practice includes acting for shareholders in relation to oppression claims and disputes in relation to directors’ duties.

David has practised in this area for the majority of his career, and has appeared in the superior courts in Western Australia both prior to and after joining the Independent Bar in 2011.

Since joining the Bar, David has also acted in a variety of other commercial matters including property and contractual disputes and professional negligence claims.

David is a Professional Member of the Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association. Before joining the Bar, David was a partner of a national law firm.
