Tina Forde
Door Tenant
Starting her career as a generalist, Tina has experience in a vast array of practice areas, appearing in most Courts and Tribunals in WA and nationally. Quickly discovering a passion for advocacy, Tina first joined the bar in 2011 and has returned in 2021, following running her own front and back end construction practice supported by a team of like-minded staff.
Known for her knowledge and experience in the construction industry and her attention to detail, Tina has represented a range of medium to large companies in construction related disputes. Her most recent experience in payment disputes relates to civil works carried out in other states with WA based clients, where the disputed value has been in excess of $29million. She accepts briefs in civil, construction, mining and infrastructure, dispute resolution, as well as the areas listed below.
From humble origins, Tina has experience with people from all walks of life and can speak their lingo. She uses this to distil the key issues and explain complex matters clearly and succinctly to different audiences, both in writing and orally. The junior lawyers Tina has mentored value this, as well as her authenticity.
Tina is recognised for her generosity with time and the effort she puts in to help her clients get tailored business savvy outcomes, whilst managing their expectations. Being passionate and purpose-driven, Tina is tenacious, energised by challenges and realises that success only comes from valuable experiences in making mistakes and learning from them. She simply rolls up her sleeves, gets back on the horse and never says die. Tina is always on the lookout for smarter ways to work, stretch herself and grow.
Tina works to try and resolve disputes at the outset and prefers to assist by getting involved early. She is easy to work with and takes a modern approach to practice. She adds value by her cost efficiency and value pricing options. Tina’s knowledge and experience is complimented with her completion of a national leadership course, qualifications as a mediator, arbitrator and adjudicator (QLD). She is also an adjunct lecturer at The College of Law and has sat on various boards and committees throughout her career, including her continuing role on the University of Notre Dame Law School Advisory Board.
Tina has an open-door policy and is quite partial to tea and whiskey; although not together. Outside of chambers you will find her enjoying sports, yoga, the beach, and fun with friends and family.
