Marina Georgiou
Marina Georgiou has a broad practice and accepts briefs in all areas of commercial and public law.
Her commercial experience includes disputes in the areas of contract law and trade practices, corporations, consumer law, professional negligence, mining, real property and equity. She also has a strong background in administrative, constitutional, environment and planning and native title law.
Marina has extensive appellate and trial counsel experience and has appeared in the High Court, intermediate appellate courts, the Supreme Court, Federal Court, SAT and the Magistrates Court. She regularly conducts trials on her own without a leader, and is also briefed in longer hearings as junior counsel.
Marina regularly acts for private and government clients, including a period working in-house at a government agency. She is experienced and effective in advocacy and negotiation and provides pragmatic advice on all aspects of litigation. Before joining the Bar, Marina practised at the State Solicitor’s Office.
