James Clyne
James is an experienced and commercially nuanced advocate, who regularly advises in respect of complex commercial matters, constitutional law, commercial disputes, insurance, construction, regulatory matters including competition, judicial review, criminal, insolvency and reconstruction and personal injuries.
James regularly represents clients as counsel in numerous jurisdictions, and has appeared as counsel before the High Court of Australia, Supreme and District Courts of Western Australia, as well as the Magistrates Court, State Administrative Tribunal and WorkCover WA.
Known for his pragmatic, client-focused approach, James also has experience advising in relation to sports tribunals, has advised clients before the AFL Tribunal and is currently a Tribunal Chair for Football West.
Prior to joining the Bar, James was a partner of a large international law firm. James is passionate about increasing access to justice and regularly acts pro bono on appropriate matters.
