Elected to the Bar: 1995
Liability limited by a Scheme approved under Professional Standards Legislation
Brian Lauri
Brian Lauri has practised as a litigation lawyer since 1978. His areas of practice include civil litigation (mainly commercial litigation and professional negligence litigation) and several areas of criminal litigation.
Before joining Francis Burt Chambers as a barrister in 1995, Brian practised for over 17 years as a solicitor in Perth and in London (where he became a partner of a commercial law firm).
As well as practising law, Brian has taught Evidence for the Bachelor of Laws Degree of the University of London. He has also been heavily involved in sports administration for State and National sporting organisations and has done a substantial amount of pro bono legal work in this area, particularly the drafting of constitutions, by-laws, rules and regulations.
Brian played sport at an elite level during his undergraduate years and has found that his experience of having to perform under pressure has proven invaluable to his career at the Bar.
