Alain practises in the area of commercial litigation. He has more than 17 years’ experience as a litigator and over 11 as a barrister, having acted in complex commercial litigation and having appeared as both sole and junior counsel in a wide range of contested matters in a variety of Courts and tribunals in both Australia and abroad.

Before joining the WA Bar Alain was special counsel in the commercial litigation division of Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Prior to joining Corrs in 2001, Alain practised for 7 years as a barrister in Cape Town, South Africa, where he also served as an arbitrator and as a part-time commissioner of the Small Claims Court.

Alain has taught law in both South Africa and Western Australia. He is also currently a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the Law Society of Western Australia, and a member of the Society’s ethics and Brief editorial committees.
