I was born and bred in Perth. I studied Arts and Law at the University of Western Australia. In 1981, after 3 years of legal practice in Perth, I travelled to London, where I practised law and did a Master of Laws degree at the University of London. After spending nearly 10 years in London and travelling extensively, I returned to Perth in 1990 and resumed legal practice. My main interests outside of law are sport, cinema and travel.
