Prior to joining the bar in 2010, James was a partner of a national law firm and assisted clients with the development of resources projects in Australia, Asia and Africa. At the bar he has continued to act in a wide range of domestic and international resources and construction disputes, including Warden’s Court matters. James also practices extensively in director’s duties, personal property securities, insolvency, reconstructions and schemes of arrangement. James is the Deputy Chair of the Law Council of Australia insolvency and restructuring committee, and a member of the Law Society of WA ethics committee, AMPLA, Insolvency Practitioners of Australia, the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the International Chamber of Commerce, and the Institute of Arbitrators & Mediators Australia. James has recently completed the CIARB Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration held at Oxford, and the IAMA course in adjudications under the Construction Contracts Act.
