I practiced as a barrister, specialising in criminal law, in the UK from 1990 to 2002 before taking up a position as a Principal Legal Officer with the Commonwealth DPP (Perth). I spent 5 years at the State DPP from 2005 to 2010 including a period as an Acting Consultant Prosecutor in 2009.

As well as conducting trials for the Commonwealth DPP, for the State DPP and on behalf of the accused I have regularly appeared before the Court of Appeal. I frequently advise on whether there is merit or not in a proposed appeal.

I have conducted a number of major prosecutions including murder, drug trafficking, particularly serious sexual offences, people smuggling and fraud.

I also regularly accept instructions to advise on extradition matters.
